The International Book Fair is an annual cultural event taking place in Thessaloniki that has been receiving international recognition in the past few years. Continuing its successful run, The International Book Fair of Thessaloniki is ready to welcome once again all writers, publishers and book lovers from May 12th to May 15th.
The Book Fair will take place at the HELEXPO Exhibition Center (Pavilions 13 & 15) and will be hosting the thematic exhibition named ‘Refugees, then and now’. This year’s guest of honour will be Russia, with reference to the Greek-Russian Year of 2016. Russian publishers and writers will present their work in a space of 500m² so as to introduce visitors to the culture and civilization of Russia.
The Fair will constitute the meeting point for cultural and commercial exchanges as far as international publishing is concerned and will give the opportunity to 20 countries including Greece to participate with their own stands and writers, 23 of which will be from abroad.
Visitors can enjoy free entrance on the given days and hours below:
-Thursday 15:00 – 21:00
-Friday & Sunday: 10:00 – 21:00 and
-Saturday 10:00 – 22:00.
*Thursday and Friday morning the Book Fair will be open only for schools.
The 13th International Book Fair will also host parallel events such as the 3rd Young Writers’ Festival, the Translation Festival, activities for children, translation workshops, book presentations, round tables, literary café, art, music and theatre performances, literature professional meetings and many more.
