Under the “Urban Art Ventures” initiative, the historical center of Thessaloniki was enlivened with splashes of color, with signature works of art and inspiring designs.
Jugend-& Kulturprojekt e.V. in collaboration with Urban Act, katArt-e_Art & Tech_Lab and AddArt turned the old walls of the town into the most exceptional frescoes during the last ten days of September.
Within the framework of the European program Erasmus+, 35 graffiti, fine arts, fresco and street artists from Boulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Holland, Hungary, Poland and Serbia transformed the city of Thessaloniki into a live art gallery.
Other than frescoes, the “Urban Art Ventures” included, graffiti, art interventions and installations, performances, workshops and seminars that where held in specified areas within the city of Thessaloniki.
The frescos that were painted in selected neighborhoods were part of the Graffiti and Mural Art Workshop with the Urban Act team under the supervision of Kyriakos Iosifidis with some of the most talented participants from around the world and Greece including Apset, Artez, Benuz, benjAMINduquenne, Etnik, Hugo Casanova Lamban, Jasone, Klaas Lageweg, Nade, Nastwo, Rafefreaks, Reb, Rocket01, Same84, Tom Linnebank, Vesod.
